Colt Ralliart

Mitsubishi has released the new version of the Colt Ralliart featuring minor upgrades to the car. The Mitsubishi Colt Ralliart Version R Special is still powered by the standard Colt Ralliart 120 kW 1.5 liter turbocharged MIVEC I4. The car is also fitted with a Ralliart rear muffler. The body stiffness has also been increased by 10 % with the seam welds done along the door apertures. There will be only 300 units of the Colt Ralliart Version R Specials available in Japan.

D3 Cadillac,

Cadillac tuning specialist based in the US, D3 Cadillac, has released the 2008 Cadillac CTS Performance Exterior Package. The car parts and design of the package is not only for style but it also has its functionality. The larger new stainless steel wire mesh front grill helps to provide adequate cooling for the engine compartment. The front fascia also increases the cooling by adding an additional brake duct pick ups on each side. The angle lip at the front fascia is designed and measured for just the right amount of down force without creating too much drag. The side skirts helps to transfer the styling from the front of the vehicle to the rear without loosing the theme of the design. The rear deck lid spoiler and rear roof spoiler help introduce down force at high speed while the rear lower diffuser helps keep the air uniform while passing the underside of the vehicle.

Edo Competition

Edo Competition, car tuner specializing for Ferrari, Lamborghini and Porsche, has released its new aerodynamics package, Edo 630 Scuderia, for the Ferrari 599 GTB. The package is aim to adapt the aerodynamics to higher top speed and meet the increased cooling demands caused by the improved power output. It has a new features front apron with enlarged cooling air inlet to improve the engine’s thermal balance, new front spoiler lip to improve down force on the front axle, new side skirts which reduces crosswind sensitivity and improve wheel arch ventilation and a new rear apron. To enhance rear axle down force at high speeds, a new 6 blades under tray with wider diffuser is installed. Meanwhile, the carbon fiber lip mounted on the trunk lid to provide extra stability and rear down force. The weight of the Ferrari is reduced more by 50 kg (110 lb) with the use of ultra-lightweight carbon fiber on most of the car parts.

Gumpert Apollo Hybrid

Gumpert has revealed that it will participate in the 24 Hours Nurburgring Race and the Gumpert Apollo Hybrid car will be driven by Heinz-Harald Frentzen and Dirk Muller. The 24 Hours Nurburgring race will take place from 24 until 25 May 2008. The Hybrid Apollo has an excellent car parts and it is powered by a 100 kW electric motor and a 3.3 liter V8 bi-turbo petrol engine producing 630 hp. The electric motor will be recharged when the car brakes. The Apollo will compete against Porsche 911 GT3, Dodge Viper, Lamborghini Gallardo, BMW Z4 and Chevrolet Corvette during the race.

VXR Nurburgring

The VXR Nurburgring Edition, based on the standard Astra VXR, features all-white paint finish, lightweight white 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped with modified Dunlop tires, dark tinted windows, carbon fiber effect mirrors and B-Pillars and distinctive body graphics at the exterior. At the interior, the Vauxhall Astra VXR Nurburgring Edition features carbon fiber trim on the door and fascia, bespoke leather Recaro front seats with Nurburgring circuit graphic embossed into the backrest and an individually numbered plaque showing each car’s build number. It is powered by the standard Astra VXR engine producing 240 PS and clocked 6.2 seconds from 0 to 60 mph with the top speed of 155 mph. Meanwhile, each UK-spec car parts will be equipped with a Remus Sports Exhaust, developed with Vauxhall’s BTCC race team, Triple-Eight Race Engineering to produce 15 PS more power. The Astra VXR Nurburgring Edition is still equipped with 6-speed manual gearbox and lowered using VXR suspension with ESP. It is also fitted with ventilated 321mm diameter disc brakes at the front and 278mm diameter discs at the rear with VXR blue-painted calipers braking system.

Corvette Concept

Ivan Luccion, a graduate from Brigham Young University who was born in Argentina and then moved to United States has come up with the Corvette Concept. The design of the Corvette Concept was inspired by the fastest land animal, the Cheetah. In the past, most of Corvette production models were inspired by marine animals such as the shark and stingray but Ivan’s concept is inspired by a land animal. As expected this car would probably have one of the most promising body and auto parts that will be created. Even though the Corvette is a front mounted engine, the Corvette Concept by Ivan will have a mid-engine layout.

Green Racing

The so called green challenge is a competition that promotes the use of clean diesel. In North American International Auto Show, representatives from the U.S. Environmental Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy in conjunction with SAE International declared the American Le Mans Series the only series that currently meets government specifications for green racing. The goal of this series give free rein toes at the 56th running of the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring presented by Fresh from Florida when it becomes the first major racing series in the world to have every race car on its grid racing one of three alternative "street legal" fuels. Widely acclaimed as the global leader in green racing, every car in the Series will race a clean diesel, an E10 or an E85 ethanol blend that is virtually identical to what consumers put in their cars at the fuel station. Luckily Audi V8 Quattro parts has been a big help to Audi team. And fortunately got overall victory at Sebring using diesel power with its R10 TDI factory prototype. It’s cool to know that racers are not just vast in competitions, but they also give magnitude with our atmosphere.
